Why am I an idiot?

My little guy, Peter, had a doctor's appointment today in Kansas City. Two actually. Well, I've been there before so when I couldn't find the directions right away I thought, "I've been there before. I can find it." Wrong, wrong, wrong. I was sooo lost. It's my own fault. I second guessed myself and got off the freeway too early. So then I was wandering around Kansas City, Kansas when I needed to be in Kansas City, Missouri. I called the hospital and had all kinds of people giving me directions. Finally I found my way back to the freeway and got on the right road. So, I was an hour late for Peter's appointment. Luckily, they squeezed him in because I wasn't about to leave after all of that trauma. Did I mention that it is a three hour drive to Kansas City from here? Yeah. Peter and I were both VERY ready to get out of the car. His appointments went fine and the drive home was a breeze. Go figure.

My First Post

Okay, so I created this blog ages ago but this is my first post. There are lots of reasons for this. One, I started it just to see what it would look like. So then I didn't have time to post anything. Second, we have a new baby. I can't even remember if I signed up for this before or after the baby was born--which was in July. Since then there are few moments when I can actually sit down at the computer and type something. If I sit at the computer when the kids are awake then Sam wants to play a game or Eleanor has to sit on my lap and color or the baby starts crying. (Usually because Eleanor is smashing him or dragging him around by his shirt. She adores him but her adoration is a little rough and tumble and he often needs to be rescued.) If the kids are asleep there are so many things I could choose to do: Eat, sleep, shower. Blog is way down on the list of priorities. The other reasons are related to numbers one and two, namely, Sam, Eleanor, and Peter. So here I am late Saturday night typing away. But, I'm going to bed now. I'll try to blog a little more often from now on. Maybe even add some pictures. But don't hold your breath.
